My identifier is 636 and I became a Raven fan after an intense dream during one night. I just awoke and all I could think about was Raven.
I was never a fan of the Teen Titans television series before and I even missed it often, but since my Raven addiction I try to get as much out of each episode as I can. I also planned to order some of the Teen Titans Go! comic books from the bookstore but I haven’t been able to organize that so far.
Raven is a Teen Titan who first joined the team when she encountered Robin, Beast Boy and Cyborg in the streets when Starfire made her escape from her alien abductors who pursued her down to Earth. They battled a confused Starfire and Raven was reluctant at first to join the impromptu team-up because she said that they wouldn’t want to be around her if they knew what she really was. Robin reassured her when he said that they knew enough and she went with them to tackle the situation. After everything was satisfactorily resolved with Starfire and the invaders, Robin and Cyborg gave each member a communicator to keep in touch with the new team.
Much later on her birthday, the team found out what Raven’s destiny was. She was created as a portal for the emergence of her father (Trigon) on the Earth from her original home. She was raised by the monks of Azrath and didn’t feel any allegiance towards her father so she tried to abandon the team and hide. They tried to protect her when Slade was re-animated and given new powers by Trigon in order to retrieve her to the site where the ritual would activate the portal. Slade came with many flame warrior spirits and in the end she chose to go with him.
Her friends were protected from annihilation when they followed her by her powers and Trigon was summoned to destroy the Earth. Somehow she had reverted to a small child when Robin found her again and in the end they defeated Trigon with Slade’s help and a restored Raven’s powers.
